Come on in...

Hi, I'm Alison

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Ontario and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, with a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. Over the past decade, I have provided psychotherapy services in various settings, including private practice, community health centres, and hospitals. Most recently, I have been working in New York City with a focus on the mental health of transgender folks recovering from interpersonal and intrapersonal trauma. As a cisgender clinician, I take this privilege very seriously.

Throughout my career I witnessed again and again how my clients’ previous life experiences would show up in their present lives in ways that did not serve them... and this motivated me to pursue additional training in trauma recovery and EMDR.

I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist, and a Consultant-in-Training and Coach-in-Training with EMDR Consulting. In addition to EMDR training, I have advanced training and/or certifications in cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and ego state therapy, which I integrate into a holistic and personalized approach for each of my clients.

In my personal life, I enjoy salsa dancing, learning Italian, and spending time with my partner and son.

I look forward to meeting you!

You are welcome here.
Come as you are.
