Come on in...

Hi, I'm Alison

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Ontario and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, with a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto earned in 2013. Over the past decade plus, I have provided psychotherapy services in settings such as private practice, community health centres, homeless shelters and hospitals.

Throughout my career I have had the privilege of holding space for folks as they find language for their inner experiences, gain greater personal understanding, and learn tools for taking new paths in their lives. I work with young adults and adults, LGBTQIA2S+ folks, women and nonbinary folks, and all those seeking a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic experience.

I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, Consultant-in-Training and Coach. I specialize in treating complex PTSD, dissociation and attachment traumas. In addition to EMDR training, I have advanced training and/or certifications in cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy and ego state therapy, all of which I integrate into a holistic and personalized approach for each of my clients.

I am a partner, mother, sister, daughter and friend, and I bring the whole of my life experiences to my work with my clients.  When I am not working, I enjoy salsa dancing, taking a yoga class and sitting in the grass.

I look forward to meeting you!

You are welcome here.
Come as you are.
